Prayers for our WELS Troops

This from WELS civilian chaplain, Pr. Paul Ziemer, via Special Ministries coordinator, Pr. Jon Semro:

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

You probably have noted the reports that U.S. troops are involved in heavy fighting in the southern province in Afghanistan. The town of Dahaneh, which has not been entered by allied forces in years, is in the center of the fire-fight area.

Be advised that a fair number of WELS people are involved in this. This is basically an operation by the Marines. But we have many Special Ops troops involved, with WELS people included.

Because this is a stronghold, and there are not too many other places to go, the Taliban is offering stiff resistance. No doubt casualties will continue to result.

It would seem that this would be a good occasion for special prayers on behalf of the troops involved.

In His service,
Paul C. Ziemer, Pastor
WELS National Civilian Chaplain to the Military
Armed Forces Liaison
